Leo Varadkar aims to reassure homeless children that Santa will be able to find them on Christmas Eve

If you walk under the GPO at night, you may see some of the most distressing scenes in Dublin with homeless children smiling, playing and dancing as wonderful homeless aid workers give them food, supplies and so forth.

It would make you feel sad for Ireland that some of our own people have house to call a home.

Speaking in the Dail this week, the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar aimed to reassure such children who are living in emergency accommodation that Santa will find them on Christmas Eve.

Leo Varadkar told the Dáil that he shared the concerns about children in homeless accommodation who were anxious that Santa might not find them this year.

“I share your concern about children in the run up to Christmas concerned about whether Santa will be able to find them on Christmas Eve – and he will.

“The same goes for kids in hospitals and the same goes for kids in emergency accommodation or in hotels or at homes with their parents.”
