The national forecaster has warned that snow might fall across some parts of Ireland tonight and tomorrow, as freezing temperatures take hold.
Overall, the weather is expected to be rather miserable over the weekend, with cold and showery conditions predominant during the day and frosty nights on Saturday and Sunday.
It’s understood that temps will drop to -3c tonight and that sleet will fall across the country while snow now looks likely for western Ireland and north western counties.
Looking ahead at next week, it’s looking like cold conditions will continue until the middle of the week at least, with some good long bright spells in between.
