Speaking on last night’s PrimeTime, Leo Varadkar revealed that he has a ‘plan’ to unwind the stringent lockdown measures that the government imposed on the Irish people over the last number of weeks.
Varadkar said that he’ll release specific details prior to May 5th that will show reopening and unwinding of lockdown measures but that it won’t just happen on day one and that it will be over a period of time.
Varadkar wouldn’t give a specific date as to when the plan for unwinding the lockdown will be done. He said that he’s talking to a number of unions in relation to how the economy will re-open.
The Taoiseach would not announce any details as to what the plan will be. He wouldn’t say whether the 2km distance will remain or not. He said that the government wants to open areas in the economy that will have least effect on the economy.
He said that he’s looking at other countries in Europe that are reopening schools and small shops and will see how they get on over the next number of weeks to see what the date from those countries will be.
