Fine Gael’s Leo Varadkar has emphatically announced that under no circumstances whatsoever would Fine Gael be willing to go into a coalition partnership agreement for government with Mary Lou McDonald and Sinn Fein.
Varadkar made the comments during a Virgin Media interview on Thursday, and when pushed, he said that there were good people in Sinn Fein but that Fine Gael would certainly not be going in be able to work with them after the election.
Varadkar said that there was a world of difference between saying that there were good people in the party and entering into a coalition partnership with them – something he vehemently said would ever happen.
