The victim of an alleged serious assault in Kilkenny on Thursday has passed away in hospital.
A 46-year-old man sustained serious head injuries during an altercation at an address in High Hayes Terrace, near the Castlecomer Road and John’s Green in Kilkenny city.
He was taken St Luke’s Hospital, where he passed away on Thursday evening.
A man and a woman were arrested in connection with the incident. The woman was later released without charge, while the man remains in custody.
