It has been announced earlier today at the Irish Consulate that Irish LGBT groups will be allowed to participate in this years St Patrick’s Day Parade in New York.
New York City Mayor, Bill de Blasio said: “For the first time in decades the whole Irish community will come together to celebrate”.
The Mayor had boycotted the event and refused to take part in the 255-year-old parade last year and the year before because of the ban of LGBT groups.
