The general election is now over and the people have spoken and voted for who they want to represent their constituency in the next government, but with all the political wrangling still going on it seems we are no nearer to finding out who will indeed in fact form the 32nd Dail.

With none of the major parties being able to find a common ground the state of the next government still remains unclear. Although Fine Gael and Fianna Fail say they will discuss all potential partnerships, it seems the country is yet again destant for another general election, and that said sentiment is being echoed by a number of TD’s including none other than the Finance Minister Michael Noonan.

According to the Fine Gael TD there could very well be another election within two and a half years. Mr Noonan’s announcement came whist he was speaking to the first post-election meeting of the Fine Gael parliamentary party. In his brief statement Mr Noonan said he fully expects an ‘early or mid-term election’.

That would mean that the Irish people would have to once again endure another political show due to the continuous row over a number of controversial policies including homelessness and water charges to name a few.
