Due to the presence of Listeria monocytogenes, Lidl Ireland has issued an urgent recall for their Deluxe Sriracha Cheddar Cheese Wedge, reports The Mirror.
This infection can cause gastrointestinal problems such nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea, as well as mild flu-like symptoms.
The impacted items are 150g in weight, have approval number IE 1059 EC, and expire on November 5, 2025.
A statement on the Food Standard Authority of Ireland (FSAI) website warns: “In rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications. Some people are more vulnerable to Listeria monocytogenes infections, including pregnant women, babies, and people with weakened immune systems, including the elderly. The incubation period (time between initial infection and first symptoms appearing) is on average three weeks but can range between three and 70 days,” reports The Mirror.

Food poisoning treatment
Usually, you may indulge your child or yourself at home. Until the symptoms have subsided, remain at home.
Take a break and make an effort to consume a lot of water, even if you can just sip. Dehydration can be avoided in this way, reports The Mirror.
