Weather experts have established the precise day when a powerful Atlantic storm is predicted to hit Ireland, and some have even suggested that snowfall may accompany the storm, reports The Mirror.

Although warmer weather has replaced the chilly temperatures in recent days, it appears like things will shift once more at the beginning of next week.

According to Met Eireann, sub-zero temperatures are predicted to return at the start of the week, with readings as low as -2°C.

Although the weather will be wintry for the majority of the week, Met Eireann has described the circumstances as “as very unsettled with strong winds developing” on Friday, and they will drastically change over the course of the weekend, reports The Mirror.

Kenneth Conlon, an Irish weather enthusiast from the online Donegal Weather Channel service, went one step further and predicted that the storm’s arrival on Friday would possibly bring snow back to some areas of the nation.

“Still a strong storm showing on weather forecasting models this morning [Sunday] with some showing a period of snowfall on Friday morning as the rain hits colder air ahead of the strong winds arriving,” said Kenneth, reports The Mirror.

“Any snowfall will depend on the track of the low with a more southerly track more favourable for snow from this system. Any track further north then the risk of snowfall will be gone and we will only see strong winds and heavy rainfall,” he added, reports The Mirror.

Meanwhile, fellow Irish weather expert, Alan O’Reilly from Carlow Weather wrote on X: “Weather models in more agreement on latest run for risk of storm Friday but this will still chop and change a lot. The ensembles in last picture for gusts in Dingle show a lot of possible outcomes,” reports The Mirror.

In other news, fresh weather maps released on Saturday by WXCharts.com seem to indicate that the fierce Atlantic storm will make landfall in Ireland early on Friday, January 24, 2025.

It’s concerning that the new weather maps, which indicate wind gusts over 118 kmph, have areas of black along most of the west of Ireland when forecasting the storm’s peak wind gusts.

Strong gusts and a lot of rain are predicted for most of Ireland, and the unsteady weather is expected to last far into the weekend, reports The Mirror.
