Lithuania has called for a permanent garrison of German troops to remain in the country to deter a potential Russian invasion.
There are increasing fears within the country that Russia’s impending defeat in Ukraine might prompt Vladimir Putin to lash out elsewhere.
Lithuania is a NATO country, so it would be deeply unwise for Mr. Putin to attempt a military
move there.
