Local councils secure EU funding to install Wi-Fi hotspots around parks and town centres




The EU has granted €120m to local councils around Ireland so that Wi-Fi hotspots can be installed across parks and town centres around the country.

The funding is part of the Europe-wide Wifi4EU scheme.

Councils can apply to receive a voucher worth €15,000 to set up Wi-Fi hotspots in a public spaces.
