Long delays at Dublin airport security over the weekend forced some passengers to pay €100 in flight change fees

The widely reported long delays at Dublin airport over the weekend caused 118 passengers to miss their flights on Sunday morning.

Airport security caused the hold up with delays of up to two hours just to get through the security section.

Passengers who tried to complain found that the checkin desks were not manned.

DAA spokesman, Kevin Cullinane apologised to passengers that were affected on Sunday morning. He told the Irish Times that the there were not enough security lines for the number of passengers flying out.
Mr Cullinane commented “We put out hands up and apologise. We clearly didn’t have the number of security lines for the number of passengers who presented themsleves in the first wave on Sunday morning.
“We, Dublin Airport/ Daa, were at fault and we unreservedly apologise to the passengers that were held in queues for that length of time and those who missed their flights.”
