Long queues and people camping from 3am to be the first to get into Penneys as the discount retailer reopens outlets with street access

Hardcore Penneys shoppers reportedly queued stolidly from 3am today, just to be first in line. These shopping pioneers would stand at their chosen spot for a solid 7h before the shop actually opened.

Queues featuring hundreds of people in the Mary St. area of Dublin eventually required Gardai intervention as tempers frayed, and store managers were recommended to open early as the queue just kept on growing. The Penneys store outlet there opened ahead of time at 8.45am.

Similar scenes were replicated elsewhere as shoppers gathered in eager anticipation to get their Penneys fix.
