A video has gone viral showing a man and woman, who appear to be intoxicated, engaging in a sexual act in the middle of the day in Galway’s popular Eyre Square this weekend.
While the video does not show the pair being approached by Gardai people who have seen the footage have asked why they were allowed to openly carry out the sex act and for such an extended period of time in the centre of one of the country’s largest cities without authorities taking notice.
Indeed, the individual filming can be heard asking “where are the Gards”.
Others who have seen the video online have been appalled at the possibility that children were present to witnesses the debauchery.
Still some commentators on the footage have said that this act of public carnality is due to pent up frustration at the Covid-19 lockdown.
