‘Loud mouth’ Irish journalist Donie O’Sullivan returns to Twitter after being suspended by Elon Musk

Irish CNN reporter Donie O’Sullivan was part of a group suspended by Twitter by the social media site owner Elon Musk.

Reporters from the New York Times and Washington Post also had their accounts suspended.

Kerry native O’Sullivan told CNN: “What’s basically happened… just really over the past hour or so is a number of journalists at national news outlets, including The New York Times, The Washington Post and here at CNN, have been permanently, it seems, suspended from Twitter,” reports Breaking News.

The Irish journalist has been referred to on social media as a ‘loud mouth’ by those who detest him, with the Kerry native attending many Donald Trump events at the last US election.

The day before his suspension, O’Sullivan reported the suspension of a Twitter account that tracked the movements of Musk’s private jet.

He interviewed the man who ran the account, Jack Sweeney. Mr. Sweeney also had his personal account suspended by Mr. Musk.

A CNN statement read: “The impulsive and unjustified suspension of a number of reporters, including CNN’s Donie O’Sullivan, is concerning but not surprising. Twitter’s increasing instability and volatility should be of incredible concern for everyone who uses the platform. We have asked Twitter for an explanation, and we will reevaluate our relationship based on that response,” reports Breaking News.

Similar to former US President Trump’s account potentially being restored, Musk suspended journalists after a poll published on his account.

Must subsequently restored all the suspended accounts, including that of O’Sullivan.
