A man has been taken into custody by the Gardaí of Co Louth as part of their investigation into romance fraud, reports Breaking News.
A lady who claimed to have been scammed of a substantial sum of money over several months brought the issue to the attention of gardaí late last year.
On Thursday, a man was taken into custody by Dundalk Gardaí at Dublin Airport.
According to Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act of 1984, the individual, who is in his 30s, is being held at a station in the Garda North Western Region, reports Breaking News.
