Two Luas security staff and a man they were attempting to pull away from an attack have all been hospitalized today after sustaining stab wounds.
The incident happened at the Milltown Luas stop, on the Luas green line.
The security guards were onboard the tram when they saw a man being assaulted on the platform, shortly after 8pm. They disembarked and rushed to aid the victim, receiving stab wounds and pepper spray in the process.
The perpetrator fled the scene, and all three men were taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The green line was closed for a time, but has since been reopened.
