Dublin commuters can make use of the Luas trams this weekend, after the planned 48-hour strike was called off.
Further talks between drivers and the Luas operator, Transdev, will resume on Monday. Union representatives have said that they feel ‘optimistic’, after some progress was made yesterday whereby
ticket collectors and traffic supervisors agreed on a pay deal. Such deal will be balloted on mext week.
It is understood that Transdev has tabled an offer of a 13% pay rise over three years.
Drivers are scheduled to strike on Thursday next unless an agreement is reached in the interim.
