Majella Moynihan: “The gardai no longer have a hold over me. Today I’m free”

Speaking about her awful traumatic affair that she endured when she was a member of the gardai and fell pregnant, brave Majella Moynihan came out firing on RTE Radio claiming that she’s finally free.

Despite the pain, suffering and hurt that she felt after being treated with contempt after becoming pregnant by a fellow garda, Majella said that she remains “strong”.

The former garda was just 22-yrs-old when she endured an investigation and threatened with dismissal after she became pregnant in 1984.

Speaking on RTE with Sean O’Rourke, she said:
“I’m a very strong woman and I am so grateful for my strength, but I have worked so hard. I have done counselling for years and years. They no longer have a hold over me. Today I’m free.”
