Six units of the Dublin Fire Brigade are on the scene at a halting site on Glenamuck Road in Carrickmines, where a major fire has reportedly caused a number of fatalities.
The alarm was raised at around 4.30am.
It is understood that two adults and two children have also been evacuated to hospital.
The Garda Technical Bureau has been notified.
