Gardaí in Co Mayo have confirmed that a man arrested in connection with the shooting of another man in Ballyhaunis has been released without charge.
It is understood the man aged in his 80s was released from custody on Wednesday evening.
Gardaí investigating the incident say they are treating the man’s death as a tragic incident.
They added that a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
