A man has gone on trial in the UK, charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm on a man at a rock concert.

According to the Metro, 56-year-old Andrew Ridley is facing charges over a row that took place at the 2019 Monster Truck’s gig at the O2 in Birmingham.   The Court heard that Ridley got into a physical fight with a man over a comment where one said that “he could not see the band because of the glare off (his) bald head”.

It is alleged that Ridley punched the man in the head, with the prosecution asserting the Ridley continued to punch him until another man pulled him off. The alleged victim is said to have spent three days in hospital, recovering from the assault.

Ridley denies the charges and the Court heard that he had said “He hit me first so I hit him back.”

The trial is continuing.
