Gardaí in Co Monaghan have confirmed that a man aged in his 20s has died following a road traffic incident this morning.
It is understood the man was killed after he was struck by a lorry on the N54 between Monaghan and Clones in the Bandrum.
Gardaí say the man was taken to Tallaght University Hospital but sadly passed away a short time later.
They added that the driver of the lorry was uninjured in the incident.
