Gardaí in Co Cavan have confirmed that a man has sadly died following a fire at an apartment over the weekend.
It is understood the man aged in his 40s was killed after a fire broke out at an apartment on Main Street in Cavan town on Saturday.
Gardaí say two other adults and a child was taken to Cavan General Hospital for treatment.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing.
