Leo Varadkar – “There’s been real progress in the homeless crisis”

Speaking on the campaign trail this week, the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar was asked about the out-of-control homeless crisis that Ireland faces.

Talking to Ivan Yates on NewsTalk, Varadkar said that “there has been real progress made in the homeless crisis”.

He went on to say that “we haven’t failed because we haven’t given up”, in relation to the housing nightmare.

Varadkar said that other parties saying they’ll build X number of houses is pointless as you can’t say you’ll build just any number of houses.

Meanwhile, over 10,300 people remain homeless in Ireland.
