A 30-year-old man has appeared in court after being charged in connection with the stabbing of an elderly man in Co Louth over the weekend.
According to RTÉ News, the accused appeared before charged with assault causing serious harm.
The man who faces two other charges in relation to stolen property was arrested after a 93-year-old man sustained serious injuries following an attack at his home in Blackrock, at approximately 3pm on Saturday.
RTÉ News say the accused was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Cloverhill District Court on August 16th.
