Gardai have charged a man in his 30s who was arrested on Wednesday evening, September 27, 2023, following a barricade incident at a facility in Ballina, Co Mayo, reports Breaking News.
Gardai were called to the scene in the town’s Market Square on Wednesday evening after reports of a man brandishing a knife in a threatening manner.
The man was in the shop for several hours while members of the Garda Emergency Response Unit sealed off the area and surrounded the building, reports Breaking News.
The incident ended just after 10pm when armed officers stormed the building and arrested the man.
The man is due to appear at a special sitting of Castlebar District Court at 1.30pm on Friday, reports Breaking News.
