
A man appeared in court after being caught dangerously riding a scrambler with a 4-yr-old child as a passenger, reports The Mirror.
The man, who is known to gardaà and is in his 20s, was intercepted while driving the scrambler in the Mulhuddart area of west Dublin Wednesday and was stopped by gardaà who were on patrol.
He was brought to a garda station where he was later charged and appeared before Blanchardstown District Court on Thursday morning, reports The Mirror.
In a statement to this paper gardaà said: “Gardaà have arrested an adult male (aged in 20s) in connection with a dangerous driving incident which occurred in Mulhuddart, Dublin 15 today, Wednesday 28th January 2026. At the time, Gardaà were on proactive patrol in a residential area when they observed a scrambler being driven in a dangerous manner. Gardaà seized the vehicle under Section 109A Road Traffic Act 1961 as amended,” reports The Mirror.
“Gardaà arrested the adult male and he has since been charged with Road Traffic Offences. “He is due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court, tomorrow Thursday 28th January 2026 at 10:30am. Investigations are ongoing,” reports The Mirror.
The incident follows the tragic death of 16-year-old Grace Lynch, who was struck and killed by a scrambler on the Ratoath Road in Finglas last Sunday, reports The Mirror.
