Man arrested after a garda car got rammed in Kildare

Drugs, designer clothes, watches and four sports cars worth €102,000 were seized by gardaí during a search operation in County Kildare, reports RTE.

The searches follow an incident in Newbridge last night where gardaí rammed a garda car after trying to stop it at around 10.30pm.

Gardai said the driver of the car hit the police car head-on, then he and the passenger fled on foot, reports RTE.

A 20-year-old man who was a rear passenger was arrested and taken to Kildare Police Station.

A search of the vehicle yielded cocaine, ecstasy and MDMA drugs with an estimated market value of €25,590 and €2,000 in cash, reports RTE.

Another search of a Newbridge residential property in the early hours of the morning led to the seizure of €77,000 worth of cocaine and cannabis, along with branded clothing, branded watches and four sports cars.
