Police in the UK have confirmed that a man was rescued and subsequently arrested after he allegedly let off fireworks during a moment’s silence on Remembrance Day.
According to Sky News, police were called into deal with an incident in Eccles, Salford on Sunday.
It is understood that a number of war veterans were left angry and upset after the man believed to be a squatter let the fireworks off from the first floor window of an unused pub.
Sky News reports that a number of veterans trued to enter the building and remove him from the area.
However police came to the man’s aid before arresting him on a public order offence.
