Gardaí in Cork have confirmed that a man aged in his 40s has been arrested in connection with an assault that left another man seriously injured.
It is understood the arrest comes after a man also aged in his 40s was attacked on Patrick Street in the city on September 12th.
Gardai investigating the incident say a man was arrested on Friday and is currently being questioned at Gurranabraher Garda Station.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing.
