Gardaí have confirmed that a man has been arrested in connection with the attempted abduction of a woman aged in her 60s on Monday morning.
The arrest comes after a woman was attacked as she walked in Blackhorse Avenue at Martin’s Grove near the Phoenix Park at approximately 7.30am on Monday morning.
It is believed that the man aged in his 20s tried to bundle the woman into the boot of a silver coloured car.
However the woman managed to escape after a nearby motorist stopped after hearing her screams.
Gardai say the man was arrested in the Blanchardstown area on Tuesday and he is currently being questioned at Blanchardstown Garda Station.
