A man has died after a botched “sex change” operation that was carried out by medical students who based their work on a YouTube tutorial.
The fatal operation took place in India and the deceased man was identified as Srikanth (28) who had left his wife some time back and was living alone.
Srikanth met two BPharma students and revealed his desire to undergo a sex reassignment surgery India Today reported.
Srikanth wanted to go to Mumbai for the procedure but the two undergrads convinced him to let them operate on him for a cheaper price.
The three rented a room at a private lodge for the surgery. The two students, Mastan and Jeeva, began the procedure while following a video on YouTube. Srikanth died due to excessive bleeding.
