A man from Bandon Co Cork has died after a wall collapsed on him.
It is understood that the victim was a 72-year-old man who was out walking this afternoon when, at around 3.30pm, a wall at St Patrick’s Quay in Bandon collapsed on top of him.
The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene by medical examiners, his body has been removed to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem will be carried out this evening.
Gardaí have said that the Health and Safety Authority had been notified, and the cause of the collapse is as of yet is unknown.
