The baby boy was delivered stillborn by emergency Caesarean section after the attack on June 14. Wilson denied all charges, including causing grievous bodily harm with intent and child destruction. The jury took around 12 hours to find him guilty of both charges.

***File pic*** Trial of Kevin Wilson, 21, plus his teenage accomplice, due to start at the Old Bailey for beating up his 32-weeks pregnant ex-girlfriend Malorie Bantala, 21, causing her to lose unborn baby. ***Original Caption*** Heavily pregnant Malorie (CORRECT) Bantala, 21, lost her baby and is fighting for her life after being repeatedly kicked in the stomach by two thugs wearing motorbike helmets in Peckham, south east London.

A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was also found guilty of both charges. The Old Bailey heard how Wilson had demanded 22-year-old Miss Bantala have an abortion and became angry when she refused. Wilson claimed that he was taking a nap at the time of the attack. Witnesses claim to have seen two men in motorcycle helmets hanging around suspiciously.

Miss Bantala had been buying decorations for a baby shower when she arrived home at around 8pm. The pregnant woman was knocked to the ground where Wilson kicked her in the stomach three or four times and stamped on her stomach twice.

The 22-year-old broke two fingers trying to protect her unborn child in the attack but the baby had already died by the time she arrived at King’s College Hospital in London.
