Man gets arrested after driving lorry down Dublin’s Grafton Street

A man who drove a small truck across Grafton Street in Dublin city yesterday and was detained on suspicion of drunk driving has been freed from detention, reports RTE.

The tragedy happened when the pedestrian-only street was crowded.

When the patrolling Gardaí noticed the truck, they pulled over the driver, reports RTE.

According to the Gardaí, a blood sample was collected and the individual was apprehended. Awaiting more inquiry, he was freed without being charged.

The man was stopped “before he could go much further,” according to a post on X by the Gardaí, reports RTE.
