
A man who drove a small truck across Grafton Street in Dublin city yesterday and was detained on suspicion of drunk driving has been freed from detention, reports RTE.
The tragedy happened when the pedestrian-only street was crowded.
When the patrolling Gardaà noticed the truck, they pulled over the driver, reports RTE.
According to the GardaÃ, a blood sample was collected and the individual was apprehended. Awaiting more inquiry, he was freed without being charged.
The man was stopped “before he could go much further,” according to a post on X by the GardaÃ, reports RTE.
