There’s nothing wrong with making sure someone you love knows how to get home safely at night but one man took things too far.
According to Reddit, the man spoke about how his girlfriend insists on walking to the train station to and from work – a walk that takes her a full hour. He talked about how he would be quite happy to pay for a bus or taxi so she wouldn’t have to walk and would be safe but she doesn’t take him on her offer.
He said can’t help worrying about her, and allegedly spoke about how he worries even more because she often rings him on her way home and tells him she’s heard a rustle in the bushes but not to worry because things are probably fine!
So the 20-year-old decided to take drastic action and took to the streets one night, hiding on their street and suddenly jumped out to scare her and show her what could happen.
As you can imagine, his plan didn’t go too well. His girlfriend is said to have dropped her phone and screamed at him. He talked about how he didn’t agree that she needed a “reality check” and remained furious with him.
Unfortunately for him, the people who read the story on Reddit allegedly sided with his girlfriend, telling him she was right to be angry and what he did was completely out of order. One person even told him that his girlfriend could have suffered a heart attack there and then.
