Gardaí in Co Carlow have confirmed that a man aged in his 40s is in serious condition in hospital after he was struck by a truck on Wednesday evening.
It is understood the man sustained serious head injuries after he was hit by the truck on Kennedy Avenue, in Carlow Town at approximately 5pm yesterday evening.
Gardaí say the man sustained the injuries after he was dragged by the truck.
It is believed that a number of bystanders came to the man’s aid before he was rushed to hospital by emergency services.
Gardaí say an investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
