Gardaí in Dublin have confirmed that a man is in serious condition in hospital following a shooting incident this evening.
It is understood the man aged in his 20s was shot a number of times in Streamville estate near Kilbarrack at approximately 7.30pm.
Gardaí say the man was taken to Beaumont Hospital where he remains in serious condition.
They say the scene has since been cordoned off and investigations are currently ongoing.
