Gardai in Co Offaly have confirmed that a man is in serious condition in hospital after being struck by a car.
It is understood that the man aged in 60s was seriously injured after he was struck by a car whilst cycling in the Syngfield area of Birr at approximately 10am on Sunday morning.
Gardai say the injured man was taken to Dublin’s Beaumont Hospital where he remains in serious condition.
They added that an investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
