Gardai in Galway have begun an investigation after a man aged in his 20s was injured following a stabbing incident.
The man was injured following an incident in Eyre Square at approximately 10:30pm on Thursday evening.
Gardai say the injured man was taken to Galway University Hospital for treatment but it is believed that his injuries are not life threatening.
They added a man aged in his 40s has been arrested and is being questioned at Mill Street Garda Station.
