A Russian man survived a true-life horror story, after being rescued alive from a bear cave, where he was being kept for food.
The man, named only as ‘Alexander’, was found by chance by a pack of hunting dogs, which stood by his side after finding him. The hunting party thought the man was dead until he briefly opened his eyes and spoke to the rescuers.
It is understood that Alexander had been out hunting in a remote region of Siberia when he was attacked by a bear. The animal broke his spine and dragged him into its den still alive. Alexander remained inside the cave and was barely alive when he was found.
Bears are known to store food for later use.
