A man had a lucky escape when he was rescued from a cliff in Scotland after hanging on for two hours.

According to the Metro, the man was walking with friends on he Seaton cliffs in Arbroath when he fell.  He managed to grab the cliff face 10 metres from the top and clung on for two hours in the bitter cold.

When the coastguard arrived, the man was said to be “struggling to keep his grip on the cliff”.   He was then pulled up by rope in what rescuers described as “a race against time.”

Coastguard officer David Kerr pointed out that accidents like this can happen very easily to people who have the right climbing gear, and that it is very important to be careful on cliff walks.
