Authorities in Austria, have confirmed that a man has died after suffering a cramp in his foot whilst swimming.
According to Sky News, the man a British national, died whilst swimming in a lake in Schwarzindien area of Mondsee, on Wednesday.
Police investigating the incident say the man was swimming with a woman at the time of the incident and began to complain of cramp before going under the water.
However despite the best efforts of bystanders who attempted to rescue the pair, the man’s body was recovered from the water at approximately 4:30pm.
Officers say investigations are currently ongoing.
