A shopping centre security guard has been remanded in custody accused of abducting and murdering This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby, reports RTE.
Gavin Plumb is accused of abetting a kidnapping between October 2 and 5 in Harlow, Essex, UK.
The indictment alleges that the defendant planned to assemble a “kidnap and restraint kit” and encouraged third parties to travel to the UK to commit the alleged offences.
The 36-year-old appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today wearing a green T-shirt, where he confirmed only his name, date of birth, address and place of work in an interview.
The court heard that Plumb conspired with another man online and created a “detailed plan” to commit the offence.
A second man was due to arrive in the UK from the US next week, the court heard.
A spokesperson for ITV said: “This news has come as a huge shock to everyone at This Morning and ITV. We are providing all of the support we can to Holly and her family at this incredibly distressing time,” reports RTE.
