As mourners caressed his coffin and said their final goodbyes on Tuesday, the Liverpool FC hymn “You Will Never Walk Alone” was played during a memorial for a delivery man who died in Kildare just before Christmas after inadvertently reversing his car into the Grand Canal, reports Breaking News.

Following an accident in Grangeclare West in Kilmeague, Jason “Jay” Hallahan, the late father of Clondalkin in Dublin and a resident of Prosperous, County Kildare, passed away on December 22nd.

Around 8 p.m., Mr. Hallahan, who was in his forties, had just dropped off a meal delivery when the tragedy occurred. At the scene, he was declared dead, reports Breaking News.

At Monday’s celebration of life at Dublin’s Newlands Cross Crematorium Chapel, it was revealed that Jay had a deep fascination with space.

In the days before his death, he had a star named after his daughter, Evelyn. The song “A Sky Full of Stars” by Coldplay was also played throughout the event, reports Breaking News.

According to Jay’s partner Sharon, his greatest delight in life is his daughter, Evelyn.

“Everyone who knew Jay knew that the one thing he was truly fond of was Evelyn. He deeply loved and adored you Evelyn. He would do anything for you Evelyn and he was the most wonderful Dad to you,” reports Breaking News.

If you and I ever needed him, he would drive at the drop of a hat to be there. Every time dad witnessed you participating in gymastics, he was filled with pride. He would frequently have tears streaming down his cheeks. He was really happy when you made a hole-in-one and showed you how to hit a golf ball.

Like Daddy, we pledge to preserve his memory and be there for you in times of need. We will lead you home and serve as your light, reports Breaking News.

According to the deceased’s uncle Martin, Jay was “much loved” and always made his family proud.
