A man who threw a 5-year-old boy from a third floor balcony at a US shopping centre, has been sentenced to 19 years in prison.
According to FOX 4, the man Emmanuel Aranda, was given the lengthy sentence after he pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted murder.
Aranda who previously admitted that he intended to kill someone at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, reportedly told investigating officers that he randomly chose to throw the boy Landen Hoffman, after seeing him with his parents.
The boy who is still in recovery following the attack on April 12th, fell over 40 feet in front of shocked onlookers.
Aranda who waved his right to trial was given the sentence on Monday after pleading guilty before a judge.
It had been reported that Aranda told investigating officers that he decided to kill someone as he was tired of getting rejected by women at the Mall.
