Manhunt: 1 man arrested and 2 on the run – after brutal tiger kidnapping in Dublin

Three women were kidnapped in their home in Malahide this morning at 2am.

The women were taken hostage and driven to Bayside Post Office in Sutton, Dublin 13, by three armed and masked men.

It is understood that one of the women was the post mistress of the post office.

A gardai spokesperson said: “After a short time the raiders left the Post Office in a dark coloured
car with an undisclosed amount of cash.”

“During the course of the morning, Gardaí became aware of the incident and a comprehensive response team was put in place involving both local and national units.”

“Members of the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) assisted by other Garda units intercepted a car on the Malahide Road.”

“One man in his early 20s was arrested at the scene and an amount of cash recovered from
the car.  A number of shots were discharged by Gardaí at this scene.”

The two men on the run are described firstly as being in his late 40s/early 50s, with grey white hair, chubby build, 5’10” tall and was wearing dark leggings and a similar top.

The second is said to be in his late 40s/early 50s, chubby build, dark grey hair and was wearing blue runners with a green top. Both men spoke with Dublin accents.

The women were released unharmed but very shocked and traumatised.

Gardai have asked for sharing of these articles until the other two assailants are arrested.

“An incident room has been set up at Coolock Garda Station and anyone with information is asked to contact Gardai on 01- 666 4200, Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.”
