Local citizens and businesses in Dublin 15 have rallied around the “House the Irish First” protest being held in Mulhuddart in an expression of community spirit and national patriotism that has of yet received no public support from any political party fielding candidates in the constituency.
The protests themselves are being described by organisers as A-political and the local business community in Mulhuddart Village have come to the support of the demonstrators who have mounted a number of gatherings outside a housing development in the area.
The protestors are speaking out against what they see as discrimination against Irish citizens in the allocation of social housing units and are demanding that in the future 50% of all social housing should be allocated solely for Irish people.
