In order to address Ireland’s housing issue, US President Donald Trump has endorsed Taoiseach Micheál Martin, reports RTE.
According to Mr. Trump, Ireland is “doing so well” that the problem has emerged.
Opposition parties have consistently criticised the government for its housing policy, reports RTE.
President Trump was questioned about what Ireland needed to do to increase the number of houses built annually during their discussion at the White House.
“You know why they have a housing crisis?” he retorted. They are so successful that they are unable to build houses quickly enough, reports RTE.
“That’s a good problem, not a bad problem,” reports RTE.
A “good answer” was said by Mr. Martin in response.
With a gesture towards the Taoiseach, President Trump said, “I know this gentleman, he’ll get it solved,” reports RTE.
